Water End-Use Disaggregation for Six Nonresidential Facilities in Logan, Utah

چکیده
Most urban water-use monitoring, modeling, and conservation research has focused on a large but relatively homogenous group of residential water users. Commercial, industrial, institutional (CII) facilities use volumes water, their diversity in amounts, timing, locations, other factors makes them difficult to monitor study. We monitored at four manufacturing two assisted-care Logan, Utah, 5-min 5-s frequencies for up 1 year. used the data disaggregate quantify temporal signature end uses that included toilets, showers, landscape irrigation, industrial processes, humidifiers. also quantified variability volume, duration, frequency, timing uses, across facilities, average per use. Results identified events both specific CII users common with shared findings participating business representatives, who verified results matched understanding behaviors within facilities.

A Convex Optimization Approach for Automated Water and Energy End Use Disaggregation
A detailed knowledge of water consumption at an end-use level is an essential requirement to design and evaluate the efficiency of water saving policies. In the last years, this has led to the development of automated tools to disaggregate high resolution water consumption data at the household level into end use categories. In this work, a new disaggregation algorithm is presented. The propose...
متن کاملReducing the Intrusiveness of Energy and Water End-Use Disaggregation via Social Media and Users Interactions
Water end-use disaggregation from smart-metered water consumption data is key to design water demand management strategies. Yet, despite large investments for smart metering networks, few water utilities are actually exploiting the potential of end-use-based consumer profiling. This is mostly due to the intrusiveness of existing disaggregation algorithms, which require intensive and time consum...

“Drinking Water Arsenic in Utah...”: Response
The letter written by Heinze (1) has serious shortcomings. Heinze wrote that There is not a single study of healthy men from any fertility center or sperm bank that has reported a decline in sperm counts in the United States. This is not true. A number of such studies exist. Leto and Frensilli (2) documented a decline in sperm counts in potential sperm donors from all over the United States in ...
